📍Yakiniku Gosyu. Kyoto, Japan. 103 Tanaka Monzencho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8225 @yakiniku_gosyu Wonderful Yakiniku restaurant with a Japanese garden view. Here, you can enjoy extremely rare cuts of the famous Wagyu Omi beef in Japan, such as sirloin (which apparently could only be tasted here because they source it from their special farm). We were served with the “Goshu Course & Special Omi Beef “Kagaya Farm” Tenderloin with 12 dishes.” The serving style is similar to traditional Kyoto kaiseki style, with appetizers, sashimi, rice, soup & pickles, and of course many different parts of meat. I especially loved the “Chawanmushi”, which is steamed egg, but this particular one was steamed with beef broth and came with a vegetable tempura. The course also provides Kobe beef cuts so that you can compare the flavours between different types of Wagyu. Out of all the meat, the grilled meat with onion and yuzu pairing was the most memorable for me- I don’t think I’ve tasted anything better in my life. Lastly, the strawberry dessert had such a beautiful presentation and tasted exceptional too. I totally did not expect them to pull out a whole matcha set in the end. There were actually 3 servings of matcha- at the start, the middle, and the end. The first matcha was warm, second one was cold and presented in a wine glass, last one was full-on tea ceremony matcha. The matcha leaves were also made into a side dish for one of the dishes, which was honestly such a thoughtful addition! I feel so honoured to have experienced this course meal here. The Japanese garden setting, the exceptional food, and the friendly staff- 10/10! The location is located away from main tourist attractions so I would recommend trying this restaurant when you visit The Silver Pavilion, Philosopher’s Path, or Shimogamo Shrine. #pr #kyoto #kyotojapan #japantravel #kyotofood #kyotoeats #japan #japantrip #kyotodinner #kyototrip
