It Was Open! A Seafood Rice Bowl That Depends on Timing 🐟 【Restaurant Name】 Perry’s Ikura Don 【Location】 5-minute walk from Nihonbashi Station ＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊ Let me introduce the unique business style of Perry’s Ikura Don 🫢 Their opening days are totally irregular, so you have to check their official X (formerly Twitter) to see if they’re in “open country” mode (open) or “closed country” mode (closed) 👀 Luckily, they were open that day, so I rushed over right at opening time… Only to find 20 people already in line!!! Even I—someone who never waits in line (self-proclaimed lol)—ended up waiting for 1.5 hours 🤣 FYI, Tabelog and Google Maps say they open at 12pm, but it’s probably actually 11am 🤔 I went for the uni & ikura rice bowl ^ ^ You can choose the texture of the ikura—either puchi-puchi (firm and bouncy) or soft, and of course I went with puchi-puchi 😚 And wow, what a great choice! Seriously, how do they get that perfect popping texture!? Since it’s the season, the uni was bafun uni 🥰 You can choose your rice portion, and I said “normal”… but what I got was three times what I imagined 🍚 About 90% of the large bowl was filled with rice— easily three bowls’ worth 😂 So ladies, I highly recommend going with a smaller portion!
