Perched high in the Caucasus Mountains at 2170m, Gergeti Trinity Church is one of those places that makes you stop and just stare. I stayed for hours. And could stay longer. This place is something else. Built in the 14th century, this Orthodox church sits right under Mount Kazbek and overlooks the town of Kazbegi (now called Stepantsminda),honestly, it’s the postcard view of Georgia 🇬🇪 🕍 Entry: Free! Open daily from 9–5. Make sure to go early as the SUVs from Tbilisi start arriving around 10:30, for the day trips. 👗 Dress code: Women need a skirt/dress and a headscarf (they provide both at the entrance), and men should wear long pants. 🚗 How to get there: It’s just a 10-minute drive from Kazbegi, the road is smooth and any car can make it. If you don’t have one, you can grab a shared minivan taxi or even hike up in about an hour if you’re feeling adventurous. This is actually the first place I ever saw a photo of that made me want to visit Georgia and it didn’t disappoint!
