Hidden chicken speakeasy in Seoul? It’s definitely hidden in plain sight. On a dark rainy day, we almost walked by and missed it. This is Kyochon Pilbang in Itaewon. To get in, you literally pull on a giant paintbrush outside a vinyl bar. Once inside, you walk through a corridor of calligraphy brushes, hit a button, and a hidden door opens. It’s drama. It’s design. It’s chicken. If you’re looking for one chimaek experience in Korea, this is an upscale fantastic spot to do it. What’s chimaek? The perfect pairing of chicken and beer and you have to have it at least once! We ordered the Pilbang Quatro Signature platter: four Kyochon favorites: soy, spicy, honey, and… corn (yes, with cornflakes). You get a sauce dish and brush to paint your own wings. Add in their grilled tteokbokki, charcoal-kissed rice cakes in spicy sauce, and you’ve got a full-on flavor journey. And of course, we washed it all down with cold beer because, well… chimaek. 📍 @kyochon_pilbang Address: 127 Bogwan-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (서울 용산구 보광로 127) Reservations: This place does get busy so make a reservation so you don’t need to wait.
