One of the most beautiful places in Portugal, some places feel like a real life fantasy and Buçaco is one of them! Buçaco Forest is a 105-hectare forest is a lush sanctuary filled with over 700 plant species, some unique to the area. It’s perfect for nature walks and immersing yourself in tranquility. There are a few trails and a few historical monuments, including the Buçaco Palace, a Neo-Manueline masterpiece built in the late 19th century. Originally a royal hunting lodge, it now operates as a luxurious hotel. Even if you don’t stay there, you can explore the gardens or enjoy a coffee at the bar. There’s also Santa Cruz Convent, an ancient monastery with ties to Carmelite monks.
