“I want to go to Kyoto but it’s too crowded…” What if I told you quiet places with AMAZING views do exist?! 😌 Before that, make sure to 👉 Follow for more 🫶 Place shown: 📍Kameoka city, Kyoto, Japan. 🙌 Kameoka offers a glimpse into the rural side of Kyoto! 🌱 The lush greenery, rice fields, and traditional architecture… a HUGE contrast to busy Kyoto city. 🙌 Kameoka is the starting point for Arashiyama’s FAMOUS Sagano Scenic Railway! 🚃 🙌 Visitors from all over the world come here for the Hozugawa River boat ride. You can enjoy the picturesque views of the river especially during spring and autumn!! 🌸🍂 The EXACT travel route I took: 🤩 Start with boat ride from Arashiyama to Kameoka. (It may be hard to get tickets during peak seasons so be sure to make a reservation!) 🤩 Explore Kuwayama Shrine, a local gem known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. 🤩 Then, head to Yume Cosmos Garden for flowers in full bloom! Best season is late August - September. 🤩 Kameoka holds annual fireworks festival in summer so don’t miss out if you’re coming in August - September!! With that being said, it IS located in a rather rural area. So here are a few things to look out for: ❣️Transportation isn’t as convenient as in Kyoto city. You won’t have buses coming every 10 mins. So expect to wait for more than 30 minutes for the next bus to come. 😱 ❣️Bus stops are located far from some attractions. Buses can take you straight to Kuwayama shrine. However, Yume cosmos garden is about 20-min walk from nearest bus stop. ❣️ With that being said, don’t feel discouraged to come!! I’ve managed to navigate by myself perfectly.
