After moving to NYC, I swear by these principals. 1. Move with purpose. Walk fast, think fast, adapt fast. This city doesn’t slow down, and neither should you. Opportunities won’t wait for you. If you want something, ask. Knock on doors, send the DM, show up—even if you’re scared. 2. Your energy introduces you before you do. People remember confidence, passion, and how you carry yourself. Make an impression. 3. Romanticize your version of NYC. Not everyone’s dream is a penthouse and rooftop parties. Maybe yours is a quiet coffee shop, a hidden bookstore, or late-night walks with city lights. Own that. 4. Say yes—until you learn what to say no to. NYC will throw a million opportunities your way. The trick is knowing which ones are actually for you. 5. People come and go—let them. Friendships, connections, even dream jobs. The ones meant for you will stay. 6. The grind is real, but so is burnout. Hustle, but don’t lose yourself. Success in NYC isn’t just surviving—it’s learning how to truly live here. 7. You either let NYC break you or make you. The city will test you, but if you hold your own, it will reward you in ways you never imagined.
