What happens when you’re on a speed boat and it runs out of gas in Jeju? A few things… - First, the skipper calls back to base to report the issue. Then two boats nearby come to check that you are cool and realize we need gas and they can’t help with that issue… so they leave. - Second, those that understand translate to the tourists that don’t understand why we are just floating with seemingly nowhere to go. - Third, everyone is chill and decides to take the time to take pictures standing at the bow with Udo Island in the background. - Fourth, we laugh and discuss whether this will add time to our boat tour or take time off… the skipper did indeed continue on after we were finally gassed up, so in the end we just got extra time on the water. - Fifth, no one complained… because what would that do anyway? We cheered on the skipper who was dealing with everything and then applauded when he got the boat started again… which didn’t happen when the gas was refilled. He had to do a bit more after that too. In the end, we got an extra long time out on the oceans near Udo Island and plenty of pictures to remember it.
