It’s open! Here’s what you need to know ⬇️ Save this for your next Tauranga adventure 🗺️ Ōmanawa Falls is one of the most beautiful sights to see in the entire North Island of New Zealand. Make sure you add it to your next road trip itinerary! 📅 When to go: The area is now open daily and is enjoyable no matter the season or weather! I’d try visiting on a weekday/earlier in the morning if you want a chance to have it to yourself. 🥾 How to get there: Drive to the Ōmanawa Falls Track Car Park, about 20 minutes from Tauranga, where you will find a large carpark. 🌿 What to expect: Three lookout platforms provide panoramic views of the falls and the Ōmanawa Valley. The newly developed track includes over 750 stairs, so a moderate to high level of fitness is required to explore the whole thing. However, the first two lookout platforms are a perfectly easy 15/20-minute stroll from the carpark. ⚠️ Important: Swimming is not permitted at the waterfall pool due to cultural and safety reasons.
