Let’s get one thing clear. Not everyone will know how to walk beside your growth. Running your own business requires constant upgrades in your energy, your identity, your boundaries. But that doesn’t make others wrong. And it doesn’t mean you need to slow down. Sometimes, it’s not even about you. It’s about who they become in your energy. Here’s what they say and what it might actually mean: 1. “You’ve changed”→ I don’t know how to relate to your expansion. 2. “You’re so lucky”→ I need to believe this was handed to you, because the alternative makes me question my own effort. 3. “You’re always doing the most”→ Your standards make me uncomfortable. 4. “I could never do that”→ I haven’t given myself permission to want more. 5. “You’re always working”→ Your discipline reminds me of what I’ve been avoiding. 6. “You’re not as fun anymore”→ You stopped abandoning your goals for my comfort. 7. “Must be nice”→ I want that too. I just don’t know how to process it. 8. “You’re not the same”→ I’m grieving who you were when I felt more secure beside you. 9. “It must be nice to have that kind of confidence”→ I’ve confused self-trust with arrogance because I’ve never been taught how to own mine. 10. “You’re not who I remember”→ You stopped people-pleasing and I don’t know how to meet this version of you. Your growth isn’t easy on those around you and their challenge around understanding these changes isn’t always personal. Not everyone will clap for your becoming.Clap anyway. And when they grow too?Clap LOUDER. 🖤
