
While the weather was fine, Hong Kong reduced visibility is caused by haze brought by Northeast Monsoon. Occurrences are more very likely during fall-winter season. This 495-meter-tall monolith, named for its resemblance to a crouching lion. This is Lion Rock or Lion Rock Hill defining monument for Hong Kong City. It can be seen from the north of Hong Kong Island and most of Kowloon. You can visit and climb it all year long. It’s not a long climb, so even on hotter days it can be done. Most of it is stairs.
