Do you book directly with the hotel or do you use a 3rd party site? We have often found hotels especially in countries outside the states will give you a discount if you book directly with them instead of using booking.com or Expedia. On our next trip we are currently planning we have saved almost $500 by just booking directly with the hotel through their website. Some offer discounts from 5-10% others have offered 20-30%. If budget is important to you while traveling I highly recommend taking the time to book directly when possible!
