When you’re traveling in the countryside of Korea, finding a good place to eat can seem daunting, especially if you have kids or picky eaters. My biggest tip to parents, vegetarians, and other travelers that just don‘t know where to start, look for the local boribap restaurant. Boribap (보리밥) comes out with barley rice in a bowl surrounded with a plethora of local seasonal vegetables. Add what you like and top it off with the gochujang chili paste or doenjang. Everyone can create their own combination which means everyone will have something to eat. The reason I like it though, it’s always fresh and local so wherever you go, it‘s a great option to find and every place, even in the heart of Seoul too, has a boribap restaurant.
