Part 2: How we afford our adventures. These are some ways we are frugal in our day to day that help us save for our trips. Yes I understand this comes with privelage as not everyone can bike to work, have the space for bulk items or like the outdoors! 1. Bike as much as possible to save on gas, parking etc. We live close enough to work (6 miles) which allows us to save a ton on driving. 2. Rarely eat out and when we do we always try to hit a happy hour or we will go out for a drink but eat at home. 3. Low cost or no cost activities (hiking, walking, reading, float the river etc). We are huge outdoor people which helps us not spend money! We don’t go to the movies or anything like that very often. 4. Buy in bulk at Costco and meal prep. Buying in bulk, especially meats, helps save us a ton and allows to focus on eating at home. 5. We Don’t replace items till they are unusable (including clothes and shoes). We do not replace things until we have to. This allows us to get extra weeks or months out of products.
