4 days, 38 miles, 15,00+ ft elevation, 4:30am wake up times, 1 epic hike ending in Machu Picchu 🤩 If this sounds like something you want to experience, then the Salkantay Trek in Peru is for you! 🥾 This was definitely not an easy hike especially given the high elevation, and our first multi day trek ever, but the experience was simply amazing and I loved it so much 🥹 It was so cool to hike through such varied ecosystems, from alpine lakes and mountains to the edge of the Amazon 🏔️ We booked the trek through @salkantaytrekking and can’t recommend them enough! From our awesome guide Cesar to the delicious food to the super cute glamping accommodations, everything was fantastic The classic Salkantay Trek is 5 days but we opted for the shorter 4 day version due to time constraints and we have 0 regrets!
