Do you want to find treasures like this with your four(or two!)-legged pal? Grab your FREE waterfall map with all these juicy details + more at the link in my bio! Waterfall Wednesdays: Wellington Edition 🏞️ Today’s feature is what I’ve lovingly named “Mossy Waterfall” in Pukerua Bay, this one is a secret to many, but I’m not about gatekeeping! Your guide to visiting Mossy Waterfall: 🥾 Trail: Start your adventure at the carpark for Pukerua Bay Scientific Reserve on Ocean Parade! From the carpark, it’s a medium-length, easy walk. Follow the path around the bays for about 45 minutes until you a see a makeshift hut (named Nobby's Corner on Google maps) at the entrance to a gully near the three sisters climbing rocks. Then, just follow the stream up the gully! (note this part is steep and uneven, but only for about 5 minutes). 🅿️ Access/Parking: There’s ample parking at the entrance, and it’s also accessible by public transport with a short walk from the nearest train station. 📏 Difficulty: This easy trail is suitable for all fitness levels, including families with young children. The last 5 minutes to the waterfall, however, requires a bit more confidence and skill. 🤫 Secret: You can walk all the way to Plimmerton along the coastline! Then, catch the train back to your car (or home). 👧👦 Family-friendly: Most of the walk is perfect for families, but the last bit is a very short scramble to the waterfall. The stunning coastal views are worth it anyway! 🦮 Dog-Friendly: Dogs are welcome ON A LEASH! There are heaps of kororā around, lets keep them safe. 🕶️ Shade: No shade. 🚽 Facilities: Toilets are located in the carpark. 🗑️ Leave no trace: Help keep this gem pristine by taking all your rubbish with you and respecting the natural surroundings. 🙏 Follow @naturewithliam for more hidden gems, trail guides, and tips for exploring the great outdoors! #connecttonature #waterfallwednesdays #nzplacestovisit #thingstodoinwellington #bestwalksinNZ #wellingtonNZ
