Has anyone ever told you the country you’re going to visit is “too dangerous”? As a woman traveler I get that all the time! “That country is too scary, that city is dangerous, you’re really going there with all the crime?!” What I have learned especially since I am American is people who don’t travel are often the first to tell you how dangerous a spot will be even though they have never been there! When I announced we were traveling to Guatemala so many people would get a weird look on there face and say it is dangerous and what we found that yes like every country there are places you don’t travel to or stay in the people of Guatemala were so friendly kind and eager to help. Of course I take precautions and I stay aware of my surroundings however for Al the places I have visited the top three places I have ever felt unsafe have been right here in the USA (LA, New Orleans and Baltimore)
