Hotels are expensive. Like really expensive. When planning a trip here are some tips and tricks to saving money on hotels! We used 5 main sites booking.com, booking directly with the hotel, Priceline Express deals, Priceline Price Breakers and airbnbs (private rooms only). Booking.com is such a great spot to start looking for your hotel. I love their filters and map feature I truly believe it is the best 3 part y site you can use to research hotels. After we look at booking.com and if there is a specific hotel we want we go over to the hotel website and see if there is a discount for booking direct. Sometimes the discount can be as much as 25%! Sometimes Booking.com is cheaper as well but it never hurts to go check things out! Next are Priceline Express deals and Priceline PriceBreakers. If you are willing to take a gamble on the exact hotel because you care more about the location you are staying this can really help you save money in an expensive city. Expressdeals won’t even show you any hotel options just the general location. Pricebreakers will give you 3 hotels, and one of those 3 hotels is the one they will book for you. This is honestly great if you are in a city for one night and just need a place to crash. We have saved a ton of money using this option. Airbnbs are always an option but we only book private rooms just so we aren’t taking up a home that could go to a local. If you need more budget options, you can always book a bunk in a hostel or do worldpackers exchange if you plan on being in one area for a length of time!
