If you’re in your 20s and starting to question how to build your dream life, here’s a reflective exercise that helped me personally: Take about 30 minutes when no one will interrupt you. Put your phone on do not disturb, sit somewhere calm, and open a blank note. Or save it to do in the evening 🤍 Then write answers to these questions; slowly, without trying to sound impressive. [1.] What do I actually want my days to feel like? Not the job title, but how you want to feel, the rhythm of life. The city, the kind of work, the mornings and evenings. [2.] Where do I feel most awake as a person? For me, that answer kept pointing toward creative cities. That’s how New York entered my life, and later Paris. [3.] What am I naturally drawn to, even when no one asks me to do it? Photography, fashion, visual storytelling… those interests quietly became direction. [4.] What opportunity would I try if I stopped assuming it was unrealistic? Applying to my dream university once felt like that kind of stretch. Or, working in a dream company in my professional field. What’s yours? [5.] What decision would move my life even slightly closer to that vision? Not a five-year plan. Just the next honest step. When I started thinking this way, my choices slowly changed: moving cities, studying what I love, building a creative path that once felt very far away. Nothing about it happened overnight. But asking better questions changed the direction completely. Sometimes the life you imagine isn’t as distant as it looks, it’s just waiting for a few braver decisions.
