Almost decided not to post this because it feels like a lot, but I decided I need to share this side of life abroad too. A lot of my content highlights the fun behind living abroad because that’s what I enjoy sharing, but that’s not the reality 100% of the time. There is also a flip side to living life so far away from home and sometimes it’s really difficult. I don’t live a perfect life, being away from home is hard and if I’m honest, this year there has already been really tough for me to be away. I’ve had so many moments of feeling lost, and I’m holding onto a lot of guilt for being away when things at home are going so wrong - but at the same time I know returning home won’t change anything. There’s no part of me that regrets my decision to move abroad, and if I could go back and do it again, I would. I would just hug everyone a little bit tighter and for a little bit longer.
