Don’t make this mistake! On our first inter rail trip through Europe we tried to save a few bucks and not purchase reserved seats (on trains that offered it). The amount of times we ended up standing or sitting on the floor for hours was awful! If you plan on taking a train during peak of summer in Europe and the train offers assigned seating BOOK IT! Spend the actually money especially if you are on a multiple hour train ride !
