Earlier this month, @jondotli, two friends, and I flew to Denmark for the craziest meal experience any of us have ever had. Part performance, part meal, dinner at The Alchemist was anything but boring—under a planetarium like dome that played a series of multimedia art installations throughout dinner, we ate dishes that reflected what we were seeing (eyeballs on screen, eyeballs filled with pate; a turtle caught in trash, a “plastic fantastic” bite). Layered on top we’re several messages for diners: awareness of the state of our ocean; importance of organ donation; and even a guilt-inducing statistic about child labor in chocolate production.
