Day 6 of our honeymoon in Peru. We woke up pretty early in Cusco and went exploring the city in the morning. It was such a beautiful morning. We were able to really take in the Plaza de Armas, the old city wall, all the sites. Then we climbed up to the ruins of Sacsayhuamán. This is where the Inca king lived when he was in Cusco. It was incredibly impressive. We had our tour guide explain everything to us and we saw this herd of alpacas, which made me incredibly happy because I love alpacas. So we found out that about 80% of this whole structure was taken by the Spanish to build Cusco and churches down in the center of the city. So this is all thats left and its still quite impressive how much is left. After that we went and we got lunch, which was delicious. Walked around a bit, took a nap, went out for dinner. My husband had guinea pig. I did not. It was a great day.
