I made A LOT OF MISTAKES traveling Southeast Asia. It happens to the best of us. But here is the top 5 things I did wrong \n\n1. Relying on credit card. Southeast Asia is still primarily cash based. Credit cards are even accepted in big cities that often (Bangkok, Hanoi, Siem Reap) Be prepared \n\n2. Bringing the wrong clothes/over packing. I over packed with the wrong clothes and it was a nightmare. Wrap skirts and linen pants for woman are what you need for temples, bring shorts the rest of the time. If you truly need something go shopping over there. \n\n3.Overplanning. I am an over planner. Don’t be like me. There was sooo much we had to miss because I had over planned the trip. Build in wiggle days where you have nothing planned so you can learn from your fellow trackers of things to do. \n\n4. Not taking the direct route. Rather this is flying, walking, biking etc. just take the most direct route. It will save you some huge headaches. \n\n5. Not getting an sim or esim. My husband has T-Mobile and felt like he didn’t need an esim…trust me@you need one. Everything is done with WhatsApp. You need data.
