Learn from me, especially number 3 😅 1. You Don’t Need a Car 🚆 The train system is cheap, reliable, and scenic. You can easily visit Nice, Menton, Monaco, and Èze by train in under an hour. 2. Nice’s Beaches Are Pebble, Not Sand 🪨 Bring water shoes or padded sandals — the stones hurt (a lot) if you’re not prepared. 3. Èze Is Beautiful… But Very Hilly 🏰 Wear proper shoes and avoid midday if you don’t want to melt. Best time: morning. 4. Book Accommodation Early in High Season 🏡 Budget options go fast — especially in July/August. Even hostels get pricey last-minute. 5. You Can Picnic Almost Anywhere 🧺 Save money by grabbing fresh baguettes, cheese, fruit and wine from a local market and sitting by the sea. 6. Carry coins or small change — many public toilets aren’t free 🚻 Even in touristy spots like Nice or Monaco, public restrooms often charge €0.50–€1, and some only accept coins. 7. Monaco is Walkable… But Built on Hills Prepare for lots of stairs and elevators between city levels. Don’t wear flimsy sandals. 8. Water is Free — Just Ask 💧 In restaurants, say “Une carafe d’eau, s’il vous plaît” to get free tap water. 9. You Can Visit 2 Towns in One Day Èze + Menton is doable in a single day with the right train timing. Early start = more time to explore. But if you have time, do one a day, it’s more enjoyable 😊 10. Some of The Best Views Are Free 🏞️ Castle Hill in Nice and Menton’s Old Town — no entry fee needed for beautiful moments. The Côte d’Azur is stunning, but it’s not all glam and yachts — these tips will save you stress & money.
