If you fly southwest, how do you feel about this change? Southwest Airlines has always had a policy of open seating meaning you were allowed to sit anywhere on the plane that you wish. Southwest loyalist always loved this and being able to pick the seat once they get on the plane. However, over the last few years people have been abusing the pre-board system as well as there’s been many more fights about seat, saving and family boarding late and being spilt up. as someone who flew Southwest a lot, I will say I loved the open seating concept when I was flying by myself, but not so much when I was flying with other people.
