Spring in Kyoto makes me feel some type of way. 🥺 I was walking when I passed by this beautiful cherry blossom tree at Chion-ji. There were 2 benches under it and it was completely empty. The cherry blossom tree was huge and in full bloom. It looked stunning under the sun- so pink and bright. The swaying of the flowers when the wind blows… 🫶☺️ These cherry blossoms are called the Shidare Zakura- weeping sakuras. The special trait of these sakuras are the drooping branches. These are my favorite kinds of cherry blossoms because they just look like a waterfall of flowers. My favourite spot to see them is at the Imperial Palace, so I didn’t expect to find them at Chion-ji! Highly recommend anyone looking for a hidden spot to chill and watch sakuras to stop by! 🌸
