Want to know where you can spot these critters in the wild? I’m about to tell you ⬇️⬇️⬇️ This strange, egg-laying mammal dwells in dark rivers and streams with poor visibility. In fact, they don’t even bother to use their eyes while swimming - covering them with skin flaps whenever they dive underwater! 😲 Instead, they use electroreceptors in their bill to detect changes in the magnetic field as their guidance mechanism. Have you guessed what it is yet? It’s a platypus, one of Australia’s shyest creatures 😳🏞️ If you want to find one without fail, you can visit the location below. I have never NOT seen one at this spot, which is known for having a lot of these guys living in one place! 📍Lake Elizabeth, Great Otway National Park, Victoria Follow @naturewithliam for more incredible finds like this 🙏 #connecttonature #travelaustralia #australianwildlife #wildlifeofaustralia #amazingwildlife
