Quick Guide: Summer in Korea Planning a trip to Korea in the summer? Here’s what to really expect so you can make the most of it. 🌡️ It’s hot. And humid. Think tropical, not dry desert heat. Lightweight, breathable clothes are key and don’t forget a portable fan (everyone has one). You can buy fans, coolers, and so on at shops all around Korea. 🧴 Sunscreen & shade are your best friends. Locals love a good sun visor or umbrella. You’ll see why after walking 5 minutes in the afternoon sun. 🚇 Underground is your escape. Subway stations have AC and convenience stores. Want to see Gwanghwamun Square? Pro Top: There’s a whole space beneath with exhibitions and you can cool off there. Bonus: Malls and underground shopping centers are also cool refuges. 🍧 Cool treats reign supreme. Bingsu(Korean shaved ice), icy noodles, and street drinks like iced citron tea keep everyone chill. 🎆 Festivals & beach days. From the Boryeong Mud Festival to coastal getaways like Busan and Gangneung, summer is full of energy, water fights, and fireworks. Seoul can be stifling so plan to get out of the city. 🐜 Bug spray helps. Especially if you’re hiking or heading out to nature spots. In Korea, they even have bug spray machines installed at the beginning of trails. Use them! Summer in Korea is sweaty but so worth it. Come prepared, stay hydrated, and embrace the fun in the sun.
