Looking for a place to stay in San Francisco? This is one of my top recs. The hotel: @thejaysf . It’s a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel—good news for all you points folks out there—and even so, has a boutique hotel vibe and a very San Franciscan atmosphere to it. Opened in 2023 in the former Le Meridian, a Brutalist building designed by architect John Portman, it’s also an interesting piece of design and architecture. Inside, expect cozy modern vibes design that are both functional and design-forward. Plus, some rooms even have balconies, a rarity in the city. Book one if you can but, if not, head to their terrace bar and restaurant, The Third Floor, for drinks with a view 🍸. It’s especially nice on the rare sunny day, but they have fire pits and heaters for when the fog rolls in too. I also love the location: it’s in the quiet but central Jackson Square area, close to the Embarcadero and North Beach.
