Comment WATERFALLS to get your FREE waterfall map with all the insider tips + more! 🌊 Waterfall Wednesdays: New Zealand Edition 🏞️ This is Ōmanawa Falls, potentially the most-visited waterfall in New Zealand! Here’s your guide to exploring Ōmanawa Falls: 🥾 Trail: An easy 30 minute return walk to the first two viewing platforms. If you are up for a challenge, you can add another 1-1.5hrs to your journey and head to the third viewing platform above the waterfall. However, you can’t see the falls from here. 🅿️ Access/Parking: There is heaps of free parking at the trailhead off the main road. 📏 Difficulty: Easy-moderate. 🤫 Secret: YOU CAN’T SWIM HERE. There used to be a really dodgy ladder providing access to the base of the falls, but even then swimming was prohibited for cultural reasons. This site is tapu. Shouldn’t be a secret, but seems to be for some!! 👧👦 Family-friendly: Yes. 🦮 Dog-Friendly: No. 🌞 Shade: There is plenty of native bush providing shade. 🚽 Facilities: Yes, at the trailhead. 🗑️ Leave no trace: Preserve this beautiful spot by taking your rubbish with you and staying on marked trails. 🙏 Follow @getlostwithliam for more hidden gems, trail tips, and outdoor inspiration! #connecttonature #waterfallwednesdays #nzplacestovisit #thingstodoinnz #bucketlisttravel
