Have you been the Amazon Rainforest? When we were deciding where to go for our honeymoon we knew we didn’t want to spend a ton of money to go to a resort. We decided to knock the amazon rainforest off our list instead and here is why we are happy we did it! We went with @otorongo_expeditions and they made the whole trip easy, entertaining m, informative and incredible 1. Price. The ecolodge was all inclusive and a quarter of the price of what it would have been to go to the Maldives. 2. Culture. We experienced so much amazing culture by visiting the locals who lived around the area! Something we would have missed out on if we just went to a resort 3. Supporting a local economy. Most of the resorts in the Maldives are ran by large companies that have no ties to the local community. Our ecolodge was created by the community and provides jobs and paychecks to those living on the river. 4. Beauty. Though I don’t doubt that the Maldives are beautiful, the Amazon rainforest was the most incredible thing to see along with the sloths, snakes, birds and pink dolphins.
