I wish I knew this before visiting Alsace! 1️⃣ Flying into Basel? Read this carefully If you fly into Basel Airport, make sure you exit on the French side. From there: • Take Bus 11 outside the airport to Saint-Louis • Then take the train to Colmar I exited on the French side but assumed the train station was at the airport. I also bought tickets from Basel instead of Saint-Louis, which caused unnecessary stress. To make it worse, my Friday night flight was cancelled, so I had less time and ended up changing plans last minute. I was originally meant to stay overnight in Basel, which is why everything got messy. 2️⃣ Go early & avoid weekends Late November is ideal. Early December gets very crowded, especially on weekends. Weekdays are much calmer and more enjoyable. 3️⃣ Don’t rush both cities in one weekend Trying to do Colmar and Strasbourg in one weekend felt too rushed. These places are best enjoyed slowly, wandering, stopping for food, and taking it all in. If you can, give each city proper time. Save this if you’re planning an Alsace Christmas trip, it’ll save you time, money & stress ✨ Send this to someone that’s planning a trip there and follow for guides and travel tips! #strasbourg #colmar #christmas #christmasmarkets #europe
