On our third day in Honduras, we explored a mix of faith, history, food, and small-town charm. We started at the Basílica de Suyapa, one of the most important religious landmarks in the country. A quick roadside stop introduced us to perfectly crispy chicharrón—both traditional and BBQ-style—before heading to Comayagua, where we visited the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Inside its tower lives the oldest working mechanical clock in the Americas, still ticking since the 12th century. After some souvenir hunting and iced drinks at a local café, we made our way through the beautifully trimmed Laberinto de Cipreses, a peaceful maze in the hills. Just before leaving, we stumbled upon a traditional cavalgata—a horseback procession of local ranchers. We wrapped up the day with dinner in Santa Lucía, a mountain village near Tegucigalpa known for its cool breeze and romantic views. #HondurasTravel #Comayagua #SantaLuciaHonduras #basilicadesuyapa
