Almost 2 years ago, I moved to the city of my dreams, New York. I moved there after a year of life in another state, and after living in Europe my whole life. I pretty much changed my life to 180°, and here’s what I’d sincerely tell myself now: It’s going to be harder than you think. Even when you’re ready, even when you think it’s the best think that can happen and you’re only waiting for it to become a reality — change has a way of testing you. You’ll doubt yourself. You’ll doubt everything around you. You’ll want to turn back. Don’t. And eventually you’ll thrive. You’ll finitely feel lonely (like 90% of time) — and that’s okay. Growth is quiet. It happens when you’re alone, figuring things out. Let yourself sit with it. You’re not lost, you’re evolving. Not everyone will understand. Some people will question your choices. Some will judge without telling you. Don’t let their fears become yours. Your path doesn’t need their approval. You’ll surprise yourself. With your strength. Your resilience. The way you’ll adapt, even when it feels impossible. Trust that you’re capable of more than you know. The life you want is already waiting for you. Every step forward, even the messy ones, is bringing you closer. Keep going, it’s worth it. Change isn’t easy. But neither is staying where you don’t belong. Take the leap. You’ll thank yourself later.
