LOCATION ⬇️ Save this for your next Coromandel trip 🌊 I couldn’t believe how surreal it was the first time I dug into the sand here—within minutes, steaming hot water bubbled up and suddenly I had my own DIY spa right on the beach. It’s one of those classic NZ experiences that feels magical every single time. ⏰ The trick is to visit 2 hours either side of low tide—this is the only time you can dig your hot pool. Check tide times before you go, or you’ll miss it. 🛠 Bring or rent a spade. Head to the southern end of the beach where the hot springs bubble up and you can see steam rising from the sand. The water can be scalding in some spots, so test before you settle in. 🌤 Get there early if you can—it’s busy during peak season. Best times are sunrise or night time low tides for fewer crowds. 👉 Follow @getlostwithliam for more hidden gems & NZ travel tips
