STORY TIME: When I arrived in Seoul in 2021 🙌🏼 …I needed to go into quarantine right away and the most convenient way was going by taxi. After all I heard about Seoul’s Taxi Drivers I honestly didn’t expect much from that taxi ride and prepared myself for a rather unpleasant experience 😂🚕 But the taxi driver who had to bring me from the airport to a Covid Test station and then directly to my Airbnb was the kindest man ever. We barely understood each other, but he still felt sorry for me.. my adventure here just started and I wouldn’t be able to see anything of his beautiful country until 14 days later? 🤔 He did not let this happen.. So he took a small detour of like 5 minutes through the city’s center and showed me Namsan, Gyeongbokgung and the Blue House..🥹 Now imagine me sitting there in the backseat of this taxi, totally overwhelmed with emotions.. from sadness cause I just said goodbye to my family for a year.. to excitement because everything I planned for so long finally came true. And mixed with all this was this weird feeling of “arrival” thanks to this kind man’s gesture, the beautiful views and the knowledge that amazing things waited for me here. 🇰🇷 Of course “Home” is a strong word and I wouldn’t say I really felt Home in Korea until about 6 months later. But I definitely felt like a certain piece of my heart - that I’ve been missing for a while - was filled that moment 🥹❤️ Have you ever experienced something like that? Or do you think it is possible? 💌 #korea #seoul #nseoultower #namsan #southkorea #taxi #inspiration
