Have you heard of Kaikōura? People will go to New Zealand but skip Kaikōura which is a huge mistake. Kaikōura ended up being our favorite place is all of New Zealand. Most people seem to skip over it because it is either out of the way or they run out of time! Kaikōura is 2 hours north of Christchurch and is worth the time to get there. The people are so sweet and kind, the views of the mountains incredible, the water was the prettiest blue I have seen and the wildlife incredible! This is the town you go to for whale watching and swimming with the dusky dolphins! A must do experience Most people just do the south loop (Queenstown-Te-Anau-wanaka-Lake Tekapo-Christchurch) I highly recommend getting off this loop and venturing North to this amazing town!
