Your guide to this spot ⬇️ Send this to your bestie and they have to take you here 🗺️ Tucked away in the Waikato countryside, Mangapohue Natural Bridge genuinely surprised me. It felt like wandering into the set of Jurassic Park! The major drawcard is the magical 17m-high natural arch formed from an ancient cave system. It’s one of my favourite hidden gems on the North Island. 📍 When to go: This short walk is open year-round, but it's extra lush after a bit of rain (just bring sturdy shoes!). Early morning or late afternoon = fewer people and softer light through the trees. 🚗 How to get there: It’s around 25 mins from Waitomo Caves and easy to access via a well-signposted road. The short 20-minute return walk is suitable for all fitness levels, with boardwalks along the way. 🌿 What to know: Pair it with a trip to the nearby Piripiri Cave or Marokopa Falls. Dogs aren’t allowed here, so leave the pups at home. It’s a super underrated stop—most people drive past without knowing what they’re missing.
