Welcome to📍Holbox Island ~ Mexico’s best kept secret 🤫 ✈️ GETTING THERE: We flew in to Cancun and hired a private shuttle service for the 2 hour drive to Chiquila port because our flight arrived at night but there are group shuttle options and the ADO bus is the most affordable option. From Chiquila, we hopped on the Ferry (runs every 30-60 mins depending on the ferry service) for the 30ish min ride over to Holbox Island. ❌🚗This is a car free island to there are only golf carts and ATV taxis available to cart you across this unpaved island. We honestly barely took any taxis as the island is incredibly walkable. 🍽️ THE FOOD: There’s a main townsquare/downtown area with a plethora of Michelin star quality restaurants, as well as quick affordable options too, not to mention that beach clubs that line the shores. Tasty meals and fancy cocktails are in no short supply on this island. 🛖 THE HOTELS: I love a boutique hotel and there are so many great options on par with what you’d find in Tulum. While there are def some pricey luxury options, we LOVED the recently opened @awahotel.holbox that was in the $200 range.
