Easy hike to this hidden beautiful cliff and ocean vistas of Cape Collinson, Siu Sai Wan, Hong Kong. Facts: Cape Collinson is located at the eastern end of Hong Kong Island overlooking Tathong Channel. It’s named after Major-General Thomas Bernard Collinson, who produced the first scientifically surveyed maps of Hong Kong for the British. The British constructed two batteries to be used by the 36th Coast Battery and the 8th Coast Regiment Royal Artillery to defend Hong Kong Island’s eastern coast. Three years later, the army ordered for the battery to be destroyed and relocated the regiment to Stanley. While the batteries were partially demolished, they are still intact enough to explore and have since become a popular photo spot. Aside from the historical batteries, this place become famous because of its stunning sea coast, and ocean vistas. The place is famous for rock climbers too. How to get there: 1. Take the Island MTR line to Chai Wan Station (Exit C). Catch minibus 47M to Siu Sai Wan Promenade (Island Resort). 2. Head towards the small playground opposite Fullview Garden. 3. Locate the public toilet with a set of stairs next to it. Go up the set of stairs next to it marked “Siu Sai Wan Sitting Out Area.” The stairs will take you to the beginning of the Leaping Dragon Walk. #hiking #hikinghongkong
