Love charming colorful small towns? Then you have to visit Lake Atitlan in Guatemala! 🇬🇹 This beautiful lake is dotted along its shores with many such adorable towns, each of which has its own unique charm. Here are 4 we visited: 1️⃣ 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗮 Probably my favorite of the 4, there are so many cute streets like the ones shown here with the umbrellas and hats hanging overhead, as well as colorful murals. We also got some really good coffee (@nativos_coffeeshop) and ice cream here. 2️⃣ 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 The main town on Lake Atitlan, this is likely your start/end point for visiting the lake. There are lots of shops so it’s great for getting souvenirs, and we had a great lunch at an Uruguayan restaurant (Guajimbo’s) 3️⃣ 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘀 We didn’t know beforehand, but San Marcos is the spiritual center of Lake Atitlan and is filled with yoga studios, meditation retreats, and other such things. If if that’s not your scene, it’s still worth a visit to stay at the wonderful @kulamaya.atitlan and I highly recommend the pastries at @circlescafebakery 4️⃣ 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗼 Very small but colorful village close to Pana (we took a tuk tuk from there). I loved all the houses painted in different shades of blue and the street leading down to the dock is absolutely beautiful Which town would you like to visit first?
