Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you a link to my NZ travel guide which includes this itinerary and MORE! (It’s also 30% off until it launches next week) 🗺️ Make sure you show this to your dog 😂 Spring is fast approaching and the South Island’s lupins will be blooming. Peak season is late November to early December, so here’s all the best locations to see them: 🏞️ Queenstown: Walk the scenic Frankton Arm Walkway for a peaceful hike. Check out QT Queenstown and Creek Park QBOX for a range of dog-friendly accommodation options. Bespoke Kitchen and Yonder are fantastic dog-friendly eateries! 🌊 Wānaka: Stroll the Lake Wānaka Outlet Track and enjoy a picnic at Roys Bay. Make sure you check out the awesome array of food trucks on Brownston Street (Firebird and Burrito Craft are EPIC). There are also plenty of scenic Airbnbs nearby that are dog-friendly, or check out the Wānaka Top 10 for campsites. 🌄 Ōmarama: Visit the Clay Cliffs on your way to Pukaki and Tekapo. ⛰️ Twizel/Pukaki: Walk the Twizel River Trail and relax by Lake Pukaki with epic mountain views. Most of the foreshore is dog-friendly, so find a good spot! 💧 Tekapo: Check out Lake Tekapo Regional Park, and bring your dog along the foreshore (includingthe Church of the Good Shepherd). A great spot to eat is the Lakeside Drive food trucks, my favourites are Better Batter and the Malaysian street food at Silver Spoon. Lakes Edge Holiday Park is a great budget option for accommodation, otherwise find a nice dog-friendly cottage on Discover Tekapo’s website! Always remember to check the rules before taking your dog near any conservation land! Dogs aren’t allowed on much of New Zealand’s conservation land, including National Parks.
