Things I NEVER do as a mid range traveler in order to save money and travel more. 1. Pick my destination before finding a cheap flight. As easy as that. I don’t pick where we are going till I find a cheap flight. This has saved us thousands of dollars and allowed us to see the world. 2. Waste points/cash on business class seats. Unless medically necessary I would rather save my money and points to go on more trips. 3. Pay for a checked bag. Simply as that. Having a carry on also prevents me from overspending on the trip. 4. Eating at fancy restaurants every night. The amount of times dinner has a been a grocery store run or street food great outnumbers the time we have spent in a restaurant while traveling. 5. Over-shop before the trip. This habit took me a long time to break. You don’t need a whole new wadrobe for a trip! Start with items you have.
