Lacock Abbey, Part III ~ The exterior One of the must-see historic landmarks in Lacock Village is the Lacock Abbey, a former monastery turned into a country house dating back to the 13th century. The abbey was also once home to William Henry Fox Talbot, inventor of the photographic negative. There are so many captivating details in the structure of this abbey ~ you can see them on the walls, windows, and even entryway stairs.
