Did you know there is an exclusive event held at Gyeongbokgung Palace that includes a royal cuisine, performances, and a tour of buildings on the ground not usually open to the public? This is NOT the standard extended nighttime hours that happens each spring and autumn at the palaces in Seoul, Korea. This is something that is exclusive, unique, and you have to know about it to even look to find the opportunities to book your seat. The Gyeongbokgung Starlight Night Tour was only opened for 8 sessions over 4 days with 38 attendees only. If you missed it this spring, here’s what you should look for in the autumn. First, we enjoyed a Doseuk Surasang, a modern interpretation of the 12-course banquet enjoyed daily by the kings and queens of the Joseon dynasty. After the meal, we took a tour to see the northern section of Gyeongbokgung with a professional storyteller. We walked through Jaggyeongjeon, once a residence for the Queen Dowager, heard stories of Janggo Mama, visited Jibokjae, King Gojong’s former study, and explored Geoncheonggung where his story unfolded. We saw the beautiful Chwihyanggyo Bridge illuminated in the darkness with Hyangwonjeong in the distance. If you want a magical way to experience a Korean palace, look no further.. How to book: These experiences, events, and tours are offered exclusively by @creatrip.global for tourists and foreign residents of Korea.
