I think in our 20s and especially woman are told they need to travel with someone. That the work is scary and you need to always bring someone along. Unfortunately in our 20s people are all over the place with what they are doing and trying to work or trying to start a family. If I could go back was to take more risks and travel solo and go see places I truly wanted to see instead of waiting for someone to go with me. Group tours (while pricey) can be a great alternative to going alone
