This is *my* favorite slice of the California coast 🥰 Tomales Bay and Point Reyes are just an hour and a half north of San Francisco. Most people visit as a day trip, to hike in the nearby National Seashore or visit one of the area’s many oyster joints (a lot of the Bay Area’s oysters come from right here!). There’s also a ton of great cheese (Cowgirl Creamery was founded here) if oysters aren’t for you, and so many options for outdoor activities. . 💾 Save this guide for your next visit to Tomales Bay: . 🚣♂️ Do: Kayak on the bay—in the fall, kayak at night for a chance to see bioluminescence—, hike the Thule Elk Preserve, or go for a bike ride on Highway 1. . 🍴 Eat: I always stop for the smoked fish plate and a tri-tip sandwich at @marshallstore. Also love the seafood at Tony’s or @nickscove (both good dinner options). For oysters, @hogislandoysterco and @tbocoysters are classics. . 🍦 Local secret: the best ice cream is hidden in the grocery store at Point Reyes Station. 🏡 Stay: @lodgeatmarconi a beautiful new hotel with a storied past, large, nature-filled grounds and a restaurant/ bar. 👉Follow @wheresjessieb for more unique things to do in California! #visitcalifornia #pointreyes #tomalesbay #tomales #beautifulcalifornia
