Here’s your guide to exploring Waihi Falls: 🥾 Trail: An easy 15 minute return walk down some steps to the swimming hole and base of the waterfall. 🅿️ Access/Parking: Free parking is available at the trailhead. 📏 Difficulty: Easy. 🤫 Secret: DON’T swim here, please, even if LAWA says the latest readings are fine. The risk is too high. 👧👦 Family-friendly: Yes. 🦮 Dog-Friendly: Yes BUT toxic algae is often present, especially in summer. Even a coin-sized amount is enough to kill a dog.
