Lol yes we brought a tiny bottle of champagne to celebrate finishing this day of hiking 🍾 We did the 4-day Salkantay Trek in Peru with @salkantaytrekking and this is day 2! We hiked a total of 23.5km/14.6miles and the highest elevation was 4630m/15,190ft 🏔️ This was definitely the hardest day 😰 the climb up to Salkantay Pass was no joke especially at such high elevation. You can pay extra for a horse for the ascent but we did it on our legs and felt so accomplished at the top! 🏔️ I thought the descent would be easy but it was not at all 😅 it was all rocky and gravely my knees and feet were hurting and it got really hot and I was sooo miserable 😩 but we finally made it to camp in the afternoon and the beautiful glamping cabins with private bathrooms made it all better!
